The Nine Greatest Stories Of My 2011-2012 FicLife: According to PAWsPeaches

Welcome to The Nine Greatest Stories Of My 2011-2012 FicLife

So, for those of you that know me, it's no secret that I'm slightly vivacious when it comes to stories that I love- the ones that dig, down deep, into my soul and move every part in me. Over the last three-point-five years, I've read some good stuff. Some really good stuff. But, I started thinking after I read a New York Times bestseller, last week... gosh guys, we've really got it good here. I mean, I've really got a great thing going when I pick up a bestseller and my first thought, half way through the book is, my fanfiction is SO much better than this. Which brings me to this post.

Over the years that I've read fic, many many stories have stuck with me... made me flail, call my mom... tell my neighbors... even have conferences with my pastor (no lie) but only a few have really REALLY stayed close to my fic lovin' heart. I won't take you all the way back to the golden years, which I refer to as the Wide Awake era, (though TB&TC is from there) but I will walk you through my last year of this wonderful fancy free fanfiction world that we are all so blessed to be a part of, and share with you my favorite stories from 2011-2012.

Every thing I could/would write about the following stories is:

Go. Just go now. Don't waste another moment of your life.

The Blessing and The Curse by The Black Arrow
By pretending she is falling for Edward, Bella is fulfilling Esme's dying wish. But sexy, possessive Edward can read her mind. Will she ever get into his? Can Bella forget the pain of her teenage years, and can she resist his relentless seduction? AH.

Finding My Thunder by Counselor
Coming of age 1960's. Bella keeps her mother's secrets. But she has some of her own, a love from childhood for the golden boy Edward, the one who no longer sees her. Soon they are tied by more than childhood history. It's a long dark road toward finding her thunder.

Dusty by Yellowbella
She loves him. He loves her crazy. She's a hopeless romantic. He's just hopeless. She's afraid to let go. He won't let her. A story about a silly girl in love with a foolish boy. Here, forever is a lie. TeamBella23 - the realist and YellowGlue - the poet

There Is A Light by BellaDonnaCullen
This was 1987; before the Internet, before Twitter, before Facebook – this was back when it was still possible for people not to know about things: big things - like bands, and little things - like G-spots. AH, ExB, with some other parings along the way.

High Fidelity by Ireen H
Damaged Edward, damaged Bella. Two sides of the same scarred coin. When one side is up, the other is down. Language and lots of it. Lemons eventually. It's a slow burn, slow and painful. Mature. Lots of random pop culture references. AH, AU, ExB.

Fold Your Wings by Jadalulu
Without a single word, I watch in the reflection of the glass as his right hand reaches around me and swiftly undoes the button and zipper on my jeans. His eyes are burning into mine in the glass. His expression is devious. He’s daring me to object.Out of pure reflex, my body tenses in panic and my hand starts to block his. Immediately, his voice is in my ear, sharp and commanding.
He arches an eyebrow. “Ah ah ah. Hands at your sides. Be a good little whore.”

In The Debris by Believeitornot
A story of unlikely friends, a story of family, a search for truth and a search of self. "She's everyone else's Isabella, but she's only my Bella." "I write a poem about a boy and girl who fall in love in the eye of a tornado." AH E/B V/J

Pocket Change by AWhiteBlankPage
I know of three kinds of change: the kind that jangles around in your pocket, the kind that happens slowly, every moment of every day, and the kind that blows you away in an instant.

Blind Spot by FictionFreak95
In the small town of Madisonville, LA, Bella Swan has spent her entire life seeing things before they happen. Until Him. How do you stay out of someone's life when it keeps flashing before your eyes on a daily basis? AH,BxE, slightly supernatural.

So... these are the nine that topped my list over the last year (the whole last year plus a few months)... tell me yours?

I know I'm forgetting at least three of my favorites and I'll entirely KICK myself after posting this since the gif is already made, but hey... the fic spirit moved me tonight, so you got nine, and I dare you to read every one on this list. This is a list you can count on ladies.
And here are three more:

How in the HELL did I forget PAW, Pennyward, Starry Eyed Inside and Outboundward? That just makes no sense. Seriously, can't believe I forgot these. I'll come up with five more in my sleep tonight and wanna just rage in the morning. Anyway, you get my point here. Love you guys :)

A Pound Of Flesh by jaxon22
To pay a debt she owes her father, Isabella Swan starts a new job as a prison tutor. Edward Cullen, with his own debts, is the Punk Ass inmate in her class. Can they fight the odds and their dangerous attaction to learn from each other? A/H, Lemons, OOC

Fridays At Noon by Troublefollows1017
Edward Masen's life intersects with Bella's at the restaurant he dines at for lunch every Friday. He's handsome, arrogant, and is used to avoiding love. She isn't impressed by the things that usually have women falling at his feet. AH/AU.

Starry Eyed Inside by Rochelle Allison
High School Fictional. No one sends Bella into a tailspin quite like Edward Cullen... but can she make him hers? The ups and downs and all arounds.

Outbound by Aftrnoondlight
Two beautiful souls humbly traveling life's lonely path, until fate suddenly shows her hand. Will Edward and Bella surrender willingly... A tender, romantic tale of love and life in the clouds.

I have to mention this other one before I go, just because it was so dirty and sexy and fun- Also, it only took me like three hours to read the entire story- this story is my number one dirty-FUN-hot-fic:

Addicted by Cosmogirl7481
Bella has a secret. But how long can she really keep it in the closet? A sexy little story with humor and drama. ExB, AH, and OOC. Rated M dirty language and content of a sexual nature.

Ok, so I'm not done. Forgive me... I just can't not mention these guys:

These next few make it to this post because of their remarkable storytelling talent and flawless writing alone. These stories are just amazing. Don't miss out on these next few:

Beneath This Sky
Nineteen years ago, time unraveled. In a changed world, Bella fights to save a man from the past and a girl with no future. AU.

Soul by denverpopcorn
Meet Edward Cullen, boy next door, dreamer, and self-proclaimed virgin. Take a journey with him as he heads out in search of The One. AH. EPOV, E/B.

My Sweet Variable by LifeInTheSnow
He white-knuckles his pen, dragging a line of ink across the page. I can guess which passage he's marking: "All things truly wicked start from an innocence." Hemingway wouldn't have known about us. No one does. Teenage E/B, AH, quasi-dystopian.

With love,

  1. TOTALLY agree with The Blessing and the Curse and Fridays at Noon. Just re-read both of them

  2. What a great list. I was glad to see so many that have also owned me. And, a few that are still on my TBR list.

  3. Thanks for the great recs!! Love your blog.

  4. Thanks for the wonderful recs. I've read a couple of them (TB&TC and of course APOF) which are terrific. Love your blog too. You all always have the best stories. :)

  7. Dear Meagan, Alice's White Rabbit and EeWee- Thank you so much for stopping by, reading and taking the time to let us know how we're doing. It helps to know that there are ladies out there who enjoy our features- makes it worthwhile, ya know?

Jada- I can't love Roughie more but you know this already-

Jaime- it was the watch at first, but then... You showed me his sexy stairwell. Just, oh my god.

  9. Great post-I'm bookmarking it! I've read maybe 50% or more of these and couldn't agree more that they are the best! So I am confident that I will LURVE your recs for the rest that I haven't read yet- thanks so much!!

  10. LOL, was it not you I saw bad-mouthing TeamBella23 and Dusty just a few weeks ago on Facebook? I guess your opinion changes pretty quickly on what constitutes a good story. What a fair weather friend you are.

    1. Kindly, find your reply below, greyface ;)

  11. Hey there Anon, PIPE DOWN. First of all, why don't you go back to the Dusty group on facebook and do a quick RE-read of what you THINK you read. I never bad mouthed Dusty or TB23, just told the truth... it appears a lot of people (you included ANON) are scared to speak up. I still stand behind Dusty being a favorite story of mine as is Sarah, a favorite person of mine. Why don't you practice yoyr reading and COMPREHENSION skills instead of wasting time leaving bitch-ass drama breeding comments under an anon account?

Put your big girl pants on and find me with your real face on next time, greyface.
