TLS is proud to announce the launch of its first ever O/S contest and, because we’re a very musical bunch, this is all about the groove!!
The purpose is to bring you great one-shots, with great lemonade, and great music. So…pic a tune, and get it fic’d!!
If a song doesn't come directly to mind, we have a list of songs, under the guidelines, suggested by some of the members of TLS, if you’re up to the challenge:
Just a few ground rules to abide by:
Authors can write from a song of their choice or choose any of the TLS suggestions in the list above.
- The O/S must contain a LEMON - graphic, descriptive, solo, voyeuristic, flashback, etc. as long as it's a lemon! (IT'S THE LEMONADE STAND RIGHT?)
- The O/S should portray lyrics from the song it corresponds with. IF YOUR STORY IS THE SONG COMING TO LIFE, THEN, NO LYRICS WILL BE NEEDED WITHIN YOUR STORY. IF YOUR STORY DOES NOT BRING TO LIFE, THE SONG THAT YOU CHOOSE, PLEASE INCLUDE SOME LYRICS. Some lyrics should be iIf you choose to write a story that has no life of the song you've chosen then lyrics should be included in the O/S, but not overwhelm the story (for example: background or mood music, Edward singing to Bella, at a concert, etc.)
- O/S length requirements: Minimum 1K words – Maximum 10K words.
- Any pairing, AH or AU is welcome.
- Any genre (humor, romance, angst) is also welcome.
- Submissions are ANONYMOUS! Please feel free to promote the contest but do not give hints as to which entry is yours!
- Since we are all for promoting quality fics at TLS, submissions must be beta'd! You can either pick a beta from the list below or use your own, but please make sure that they aren't biased with voting or leak which story is yours! *In case you intend to use one of the betas we are providing, please send your story over to us, so that we can send it to them blind (they may vote also).
- Collaborations are welcome, but if you enter your story as collaboration you may not enter a personal submission.
- Include a link to youtube or similar with the version of the song you used!
June 15 – July 13: submissions accepted
July 16 – July 23: public voting
July 30th – August 1: winners (public voting and judges’ pick) announced
